1934 Riley Lynx

Our clients have enjoyed many outings in the UK and NZ, often driving the 160 miles to Prescott and many VSCC meetings.

This stunning example left the Coventry factory on 3 June 1934 proudly wearing registration plates OW 4771. Very little is known of this beautiful car’s early years but sixty years later the car was completely rebuilt by a Riley specialist in the UK. Our client, the current owner purchased the car in June 2003 while living in Staffordshire, England. Our client is a true enthusiast and has used and maintained the car regularly and because of this the Riley drives very well, whether on the race track or on the road. Our clients have enjoyed many outings in the UK and NZ, often driving the 160 miles to Prescott and many VSCC meetings. The car has also done the return Auckland to Napier drive for the Art Deco festival in previous years.
The Riley came out to NZ as a personal import when our clients emigrated to New Zealand in January 2004. Vinned and registered in NZ with personalised plates as OW 477I ,it is believed to be the only original Riley 9 Lynx in New Zealand and has a current VCC Vehicle ID Card.
With the benefit of an easily operated full hood and side screens this is a very usable classic in all weathers. The tonneau cover also provides good protection and security.
Accompanied by an extensive history file, invoices and spare parts this really is a very special example finished in cherry red with oatmeal coloured leather interior. With the exception of the slightly tuned engine the car is believed to be to the original specification in all respects and being a special series variant benefits from twin S.U carburettors.
