This is quite possibly the best example of an S2 Bentley we have ever seen. The Bentley S2 was produced by Bentley from 1959 until 1962. The successor to the S1, it featured the new Rolls-Royce Bentley L Series V8 engine and improved air conditioning. Power steering was also standard, and a new dashboard and steering wheel were introduced.
In all, 1,920 standard and long-wheelbase S2 car chassis were built between 1959 and 1962. Almost all were fitted with standard factory bodywork.
This stunning car was sold new in Wellington, New Zealand by Dominion Motors to the United Empire Box Company Limited in 1961.
Special features listed on the Build card include; Radio, Shaded glass to windscreen, Electric Windows, Speedo in MPH, Colonial Springing , Triple Extension aerial, Home type rear number plate, Dunlop Nylon Tubeless Tyres.
