1966 Daimler 250 V8

This is a beautiful example of the Daimler 2.5 V8 or 2½-litre V8 as it was often referred to. Launched late in 1962 the car was essentially a rebadged Jaguar Mark 2 fitted with Daimler’s 2.5-litre V8 engine and drive-train, a Daimler fluted grille and rear number plate surround, distinctive wheel trims, badges, and interior details including a split-bench front seat from the Jaguar Mark I along with all the wood trim and leather one would expect. Special interior and exterior colours were specified and most cars were fitted with power-assisted steering. Automatic transmission was standard and manual with or without overdrive, became an option in 1967
This car has been in the hands of a number of collectors over the years with each maintaining and improving the car during their ownership. The car was the recipient of an engine rebuild in Feb 2021 at the cost of $15,000 NZD. As expected the car drives and rides very well and with the added benefit of power steering and being automatic, this is a very useable classic in today’s traffic.
