1974 Citroen GS Break

BAINS CLASSIC MOTOR HOUSE are very excited to present this rare wee survivor to the market. Sold new to Mr Jacob of Masterton in December 1974, this car remained in the family for 45 years until our client purchased the vehicle. The GS Estate car or Break as it was known was a fantastic concept. As the original sale brochure states “Since it incorporates all the advanced features of the GS saloon, the GS Estate is certainly an estate car with a difference. Fold down the rear seats and you have 53 cu ft of load space. Again, this is all usable space. There are no wheel arches to obstruct the load or make packing difficult. The floor is flat from the rear door through to the front seats. Hydropneumatic suspension is, of course, a tremendous plus on an estate car. It adjusts to the load, keeps it level, and ensures the GS Estate still drives and feels like an expensive saloon car even when fully laden.” This stunning example is very original but has had the benefit of a very sympathetic rejuvenation including a full repaint etc. Accompanying this car is a tremendous file of paperwork, Citroen owner’s manual, stamped maintenance guide and personal letters sent to Mr Jacob by the Citroen dealer in regards to his purchase of the car.
