It is believed that only 1,500 RHD cars were made worldwide
This is an opportunity not to be missed as it is not often we are privileged enough to offer a car with such fantastic local pedigree to the market. Sold new in Christchurch by Archibalds to a well known Jaguar enthusiast, this car has only had one local long term owner since. Having been well maintained and serviced this car certainly is a genuine example. Benefiting from a subtle suspension upgrade this car handles beautifully without losing the iconic smooth ride of the XJS.
The XJ-S was introduced on 10 September 1975, but design and development had begun in the late 1960s with an initial shape penned by Malcolm Sayer, but after his death in 1970 it was completed by the in-house Jaguar design team, headed by Doug Thorpe. The power for this stunning car came from the Jaguar V12 engine with a choice of a manual or an automatic transmission, but the manual was soon dropped as they were transmissions left over from V12 E Type production.
It is believed that only 1,500 RHD cars were made worldwide, making this XJSC a very appealing vehicle. With a few minor cosmetic improvements needed, we believe that this example has been priced to not only allow the new owner to complete these but to purchase a fantastic appreciating asset.
